Broken promises

A promise was made
An everlasting dream
It was never to fade
Till always, evergreen

With an uneasy mind
Tired and strewn
A half hearted will
To smile or bloom

When faith was lost
An unfitting release
Impulse took control
Now so much at ease

Praying everyday
For peace and strength
Help find another way
To live life it's length

Slowly wilting
A promise that is lost
Succumbing to an after

The Good Man

A good man he is

A fine work of art

Careless notions follow him

He told me right from the start

He may apologise more than once

Then make the same mistake again

He is only human, only man

Trust his hand is here to stay

I know he is sorry

His eyes won’t lie

And yet his boyish ways

Don’t seem to ever go away

Will never find one so perfect

Bright lights in my eyes

Got wind in my face

Things are blurry now

Silent Love

Can’t remember how this started

A feeling of want within

The distant past has faded now

A notion that life begins

All you have to do is look at me

I’m squealing and squirming with joy.

Our words hold no place of importance

It is just a feeling deep inside.

I want to tell the world

I have found something new

That no one else has ever had

A peaceful kiss, a simple song

The silent taste of love

A racing heart that is beating fast

There is no other reason to speak

Star Dust

Was at the beach today

Counting the stars away

Not many were over my head

Just scarcely scattered instead

Went on counting - forty eight

Oops one was a plane!

The clouds kept parting

There were more
